    • ]]>     My daughter had her 8th Grade Dance last night.  I took as many photos as I possibly could, as this was a big night for her and for me.  She was so beautiful and made for a perfect model for her mom’s camera crazy ways.  She had a blast and I ended up with some great shots.

    • ]]>     We decided to go out to the Crown of Maine Balloon Festival last night for the balloon glow at dusk.  It was a chance to get out of the house and see something new.  This event has been going on for the last few years, however we haven’t made it out to any of the launches or the balloon glow.  Last year we did sight them floating along above the river, but last night was a chance to get right up close to the massive balloons.  Beagle Maximus (below) towered over the crowd and was a hit with the kids.

    Tonka, guardian of the north

    Tonka spends much of his free time hunting the vast woods and fields around our house.  If he knows we are outside, however, he comes running and stays close the whole time.  This evening I watched him sit on top of a fence post for upwards of half an hour, just watching the fields as my husband and I took down a fence line.  He is an amazing animal.
