It was taken only about three years ago, just prior to us bringing Dusty Dawn home.  He was shaggy, a bit funny looking, but incredibly sweet.  What caught my attention, though, was A’s height.  I was astonished at the difference three years can make.  She is more than a foot taller now than she was then.  Little Dusty is about two feet taller.  I know things change and children grow quickly, but sometimes there is so much going on that it doesn’t get as noticed as maybe it should.  This is an acknowledgement to the wonderful young lady that A is becoming.  I am very proud of her.  I know down the road she’ll “hate” me for posting this, but I think I will risk it.

Tonka, guardian of the north

Tonka spends much of his free time hunting the vast woods and fields around our house.  If he knows we are outside, however, he comes running and stays close the whole time.  This evening I watched him sit on top of a fence post for upwards of half an hour, just watching the fields as my husband and I took down a fence line.  He is an amazing animal.
